Have you ever wondered why your mom makes up rules? Well, I have come to realize that the reason why all of our mom's make up rules is because they just want us to be safe. My mom is important to me because she allways wants me to be safe, By, making up safety rules for around my house, Not letting me go swimming without a parent's supervision, And finally not letting me go trick-or-treating without her near me all.
I am not allowed to go trick-or-treating without my mom with me. One time I was going trick-or treating in the Woodlands. Have you ever been there before? Have your parents ever whined about letting you trick-or treat all by yourself or with a friend? Well mine did. I was waiting and waiting for halloween to arrive. Finnally it was here. I arrived at Addie's house to have a party and to trick-or-treat. I had finnaly started trick-or treating when I saw my little brother, mom, and dad. I told them that I wanted to trick-or-treat without them and just Ashwaria.
They told me that they would stay 10 feet behind me. I argued and said "No. I want to walk with just Ashwaria! Why do I always have to walk with you?" That started a bit of a argument. Finally I gave up in the argument and they started of far behind me and Ashwaria. Then when we started walking in peace again all of the sudden my mom, brother, and dad were right next to me. I asked them,"Why are you way up here?" "You two are to slow." Replied my dad. After my parents started walking next to us Ashwaria decided to leave to go trick-or-treat with another friend. I didn't blame her. I then decided to trick-or treat with my mom, brother, and dad because I relized, My mom just wants me to be safe.
My mom has safety rules for around the house so I can be safe. She has a list of things I cannot remember, but I will try.

Going on the balcony all by myself
Right when we moved into my condo, my mom told me no going out on the balcony all by myself because, she's heard storys of kids who have died by falling off of the balcony, and she does not want that to be me one day.
Youtube sometimes
Once my friends Aytana and Chiharu thought they found a funny youtube video. There wasn't a bad word till the very end. (Which we had never heard of the bad word before.) One day I decided to show my mom that video, she told me and my computer teacher that there was a bad word. Now my mom has to look at the video, before I show my friends and siblings.
Scootering in the house
I love to scooter around the house, but my mom does not "like it." Once my little brother ws on a scooter, and rolled over his own toes. It was not my fault, but now because of that my sister and I are not aloud to scooter around the house. Even though it is unfair, I know that the reason why my mom made that rule was because she loves me and wants me to be safe.
Slamming the doors (Because I can hurt someone's fingers.)
Sometimes when I am mad, I slam my door. My mom gets mad at me for getting really mad. Then when I slam my door, She gets twice as mad. She always reminds me and my siblings never to slam a door, because we can hurt someone's fingers. I know the reason why my mom made up that rule was because she wants me to be safe.
Running arond the house (Espically when it was just mopped.)
My mom does not let me run around my house, because I could fall. She especially does not want me to run after the floor as just been mopped. My mom always tells me that I could brake a bone or get a very serious injury.
My mom doesn't let me swim without an adult's supervision. One time my two friends, Caroline and Kendall, called up to me to see if I could swim. I asked my mom if I could go swimming. She said, "No." "Why not?" I complained. Then she started her speach of how she wants me to safe in the water. Right when I was about to ask if she could come down to watch me she said, "And I am busy making dinner so I can not watch you. Maybe you can ask them if they want to come up here." I did not wat to play up at my house, I was so ecxited to go swimming with Kendall and Caroline. Kendall and Caroline called back up and I had to explain to them that I could not go swimming without a adult down there and my mom was making dinner so she could not go down to watch me. They said they were sorry that I could not go down to swim, But still went to go swimming. Then I thought that my mom did not want me to have fun. but now I think that my mom just wants me to be safe. Thats the reason why my mom only lets me go swimming when a adult is there.
